The St. John's Bible
Topic: Calligraphy
The St. John's Bible is a major artistic, cultural and spiritual endeavor. It is the first handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned since the invention of the printing press. Significant in size and scope, The St. John's Bible will be bound in seven magnificent volumes comprising nearly 1,100 pages, each measuring approximately 16 by 24 inches. The translation is the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) -- chosen for its theological rigor and wide acceptance by major Christian churches. The imagery is as diverse as Navajo basket-weaving patterns, microscopic views of viruses, and cosmological images from the Hubble Space telescope. Read more at Monastery Greetings
